X-Men Plans Still Under Discussion at Marvel Studios

Kevin Feige, the genius behind the MCU as we know it, says Marvel Studios are still discussing the X-Men and how to bring them into the MCU.

After Disney acquired 20th Century Fox back in 2019, the studio has been working out how they will introduce the mutants into the MCU. While Fox held the distribution rights to the X-Men, they released a total of 13 films and brought in a revenue of over $6 billion at the box office. The movies, that features stars such as Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart, practically paved the way for superhero movies as we know them today.

That being said, when Disney acquired Fox they also gained the rights to the Fantastic Four.

At the recent Disney Investors Day, Marvel Studios announced a Fantastic Four movie will be going into the works but there has been no official announcement on when we see the likes of Cyclops, Storm or Wolverine make an appearance in the MCU.

Well, that is until a recent interview that Kevin Feige had with Screen Rant. During the interview, Feige admitted love for the X-Men, but he couldn’t say anything other than the Studios discussions have been long and are still ongoing.

Screen Rant: At Disney Investor Day, you announced that Fantastic Four is happening. When will we see the X-Men?

Kevin Feige: You know how much I love the X-Men. I already said that’s where I started. I can’t tell you anything before we actually announced it, but rest assured, the discussions have been long and ongoing internally.

The introduction of the X-Men into the MCU is highly anticipated but fans of both the comics and the previous movies. It will be interesting to see how the mutants are introduced into the MCU. Will they be brought in as a ready-made team or will we see them introduced slowly, popping up in various projects and eventually forming the X-Men? Will we see the usual characters or will get to see some mutant faces.
