WandaVision is set to become the first entry for phase 4 of the MCU, but the release date is still not confirmed. Meanwhile, the news and rumours keep flooding in. Today is no different with Entertainment Weekly releasing some images and news from the upcoming Disney+ series.
Despite Kat Jennings, who plays Darcy Lewis, recent interview where she stated that Marvel was planning a 2020 release date for WandaVision, a Disney+ customer support line from Latin America stated that the release would be 2021. This may have been a regional thing and not worldwide but we will have to wait and see.
In Entertainment Weekly’s recent article they have posted several images from the show including a pregnant Wanda and a whole new look at Kathryn Hahn’s character. They also confirmed that the first episode was partially filmed in front of a live studio audience. Participants had to sign very strict NDA’s.
Last year, the notoriously secretive Marvel Studios did something unprecedented: It opened its set to visitors… So for [WandaVision’s] premiere episode, Marvel’s first Disney+ TV show went full midcentury sitcom, filming in classic black and white in front of a live studio audience (all of whom signed very, very strict NDAs).
The series is set to follow a sitcom style so bringing in a live audience will create an authentic style. There have been no leaks for the first episode or even the rest of the season, so the NDA’s seem to have worked.
While we eagerly await the release of the series we will as always keep you informed of any more news we hear of. If in the meantime you haven’t already, check out the WandaVision trailer below.
