The Disney+ series WandaVision was in all respects a success. The series was a relief from the usual action-packed scenes we have come to expect from the MCU and took fans on a journey of emotions. What started as light-hearted sitcoms built into a dramatic, emotion-filled finale.
Throughout the series, fans were on the lookout for Easter eggs and callbacks while coming up with a multitude of theories on what the series was going to throw at us. One of the biggest theories was that the big bad villain of the series was going to be Marvel’s version of the Devil, Mephisto.
This theory ultimately didn’t turn out not to be true, but we have some information that may prove Marvel were thinking of using this character and at the last minute dropped the idea.
In an interview on Kevin Smith’s Podcast, WandaVision director Matt Shakman revealed a scene that was cut from the finale. The scene would have revealed the true identity of Agatha Harkness‘ rabbit, Senor Scratchy.
The scene was cut from the finale, but Shakman went on to say that the rabbit would have gone through an American Werewolf in London style transformation.
Shakman also revealed that the scene had been shot but it never made it through the CGI process and was ultimately cut from the last episode.
While fans never got to see the theory that the real villain was in fact Mephisto come true, the above comments confirm that there may still be a possibility we will see him in the future.
