Chris Hemsworth had taken to social media to confirm that filming will begin on the fourth movie in the Thor franchise this week. Hemsworth who plays the titular character of Thor in the MCU, posted on Instagram this week with an image of him and his family with the caption:
“Great to get away for a few days to visit @visitlordhoweisland before starting on #thorlovenadthunder this week“
Hemsworth will be joining fellow, returning cast members Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson and Jaimie Alexander along with other familiar faces from Guardians of the Galaxy, like Chris Pratt and Karen Gillan. We will also be introduced to a new face in the MCU with Christian Bale who has been confirmed to be playing the part of the movie’s villain, Gorr the God Butcher.
We also had news this week that Matt Damon is set to make an appearance, although his role in the movie has not been confirmed. We are sure there will be more casting news over the coming weeks and months as well.
Taika Waititi is returning off the back of the success of Thor: Ragnarok to both write and direct the movie which is due to hit theatres worldwide in May 2022.
