In recent weeks, we’ve seen several cast members arrive in Australia to begin filming Thor: Love and Thunder. With production now officially underway in Sydney’s Centennial Park, new photos captured from the set reveal Chris Hemsworth as the film’s titular character, alongside members of The Guardians of the Galaxy.
The images come courtesy of the Daily Mail and reveal a much slender looking Thor than when we saw him last in Avengers: Endgame. It also appears that Hemsworth has a new costume for the film, as we see him wearing blue jeans, a white vest and sleeveless red leather jacket, that is surely a nod to the Marvel Comic’s character Thunderstrike.

ToothGnasher and Toothgrinder in Thor: Love and Thunder?
Interestingly, one of the photos hints at the appearance of Toothgrinder and ToothGnasher. The two goats are based on Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr who pulled Thor’s chariot in Norse mythology. Toothgrinder and ToothGnasher were heavily featured in Jason Aaron’s Mighty Thor books, which we know is being used as inspiration for Thor: Love and Thunder.
Thor: Love and Thunder is currently scheduled to release on May 6th, 2022. With lots of filming still left, here’s hoping we get to see some behind the scenes shots of Natalie Portman as the Goddes of Thunder, Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher, and the return of Lady Sif.
