Many suspected that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier would be delayed until next year. Today we have the official confirmation of the delay via the show’s Disney+ page. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will now premiere in 2021.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was originally scheduled to release in August. Unfortunately, the Coronavirus pandemic put the release date in doubt when Marvel Studios halted production on all of its projects in March. The release date was then pushed back to Fall 2020. Filming for the series only recently got back underway, however, it seems that it was too late to finish everything in time to release this year.
The placeholder page for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has now been updated from “Coming Fall 2020” to now read “Coming 2021”. It’s unclear which month the series will release at the moment.
Late last week, the Disney+ Twitter account provided an update for another MCU series set to release on the streaming platform. In a trailer showing a brief glimpse of upcoming titles, which included WandaVision. That news was quickly followed up by the release of the Wandavision official trailer during the 2020 Emmy Awards.
As soon as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier receives a new release date, we’ll let you know.
