Earlier this year, Marvel Studios announced delays for all of its phase four MCU movies due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Whilst there still hasn’t been any official word regarding the upcoming Disney+ shows being pushed back, delays have seemed inevitable.
Earlier this week, Disney+ announced its August release list, which didn’t include The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The debut MCU series on the streaming platform was scheduled to release next month, although a recent report stated that filming would continue in Prague this fall. Whilst there still hasn’t been an official announcement from Marvel or Disney regarding a new release date, one is rumoured to be coming soon.
Yesterday, Entertainment Weekly reported that a source close to the situation confirmed the delay of the show:
With a delay for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier all but officially confirmed, more bad news followed shortly after. In The Hollywood Reporter’s story about multiple Hawkeye directors, they also state that WandaVision won’t release until next year:
If the delays follow anything like the rescheduling of the movie releases, it likely that The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will move to December, with WandaVision moved to spring 2021.
