Well Jim Starlin, Thanos’ comic book creator thinks so. In a recent interview with comicbook.com, Starlin was asked what he thought was in store for the “Big Bad Guy” and stated that they have made so much off the character that he doesn’t see them retiring him anytime soon.
“Well, I understand that the story’s not completely ended,” Starlin said about eternals. “They’ve already announced that. I think a young Thanos appears in The Eternals. I remember reading that somewhere.”
The theory is a good one as Thanos is the son of two Eternals, A’lars and Sui-San, although Thanos was born with the Deviant Gene, which meant he looked different from the other Eternals (A little like a giant grape according to my son).
Apparently Marvel Studios wanted to Explore Thanos’ Origins in Avengers: Infinity War but there wasn’t room in that movie so this would be a good opportunity to at least introduce it, so it may be a younger Thanos we see rather than the one we are used to seeing on the big screen.
The Eternals starring Salma Hayek, Richard Madden and Angelina Jolie, was due to be released in November 2020 but has been delayed until February 2021, which means we will have to wait until then to find out…….
