While the first three phases of the MCU were built upon big budget movies, phase four and onwards will include several series. These will help build out the world’s of individual characters and help interconnect the stories. Phase four kicked of in January with WandaVision and followed up with Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Both series were huge hits with fans and critics alike.
The next project to arrive will be the series Loki, which will land on Disney Plus next month. The series will follow Loki after he escapes with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame. He will be picked up by the TVA who will send him on missions to correct the timeline.
While previous trailers for Loki have given us some insight into the tone we can expect from the show, they have also shown how the series will connect to the larger picture of the MCU. The latest trailer though shows Loki repeating a line made famous by Guardians of the Galaxy’s Star-Lord. In the closing scene of Guardians of the Galaxy, Star-Lord asks the team “What should we do next? Something good? Something bad? Bit of both?” This line is stolen by Loki who says, “I know what I am. Good. Bad. Bit of Both.”
We are sure this will not be the only nod or reference to other MCU projects. The previous two series were filled with Easter Eggs and nods to other movies and the comics.
To see what other references may pop up in the show, tun into Disney Plus on 9th June.
