Last week, Warner Bros. confirmed that a long-running fan campaign calling for a re-release of Justice League will be answered. The Snyder cut of Justice League is set to release on HBO Max in 2021. The move has reinvigorated MCU fans, with momentum gaining online over recent days for Marvel Studios to #SaveDaredevil.

The Netflix series Daredevil, featuring actor Charlie Cox as a blind defence attorney by day and vigilante crime fighter by night, was cancelled by the streaming giant in 2018. The cancellation of Daredevil coincided with the cancellation of the rest of Netflix’s connected cast of Marvel characters. The list of cancelled shows included Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, The Defenders and The Punisher.

Ever since the announcement of the series’ cancellation, fans of the show have been campaigning for a fourth season. The movement began on Twitter when the show was cancelled, with fans tweeting the #SaveDaredevil hashtag daily. The movement also gained support from MCU star Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and from Cox himself.

With the live-action rights for Daredevil reportedly set to revert back to Marvel Studios at the end of this year, fans are hopeful that we may see Cox reprise the role. Rumours even circulated recently that Daredevil will appear in the upcoming Spider-Man 3. Cox dismissed the rumour, however, stating “it’s certainly not with my Daredevil. I’m not involved in it. If that’s true, it’s not with me. It’s with another actor.”

Ever since the announcement from Warner Bros. the #SaveDaredevil campaign has grown momentum on Twitter and Reddit.

The Synder Cut of Justice League is the latest in a number of studio u-turns to appease fan wishes. DC reversed the decision to cancel Young Justice and has revived it for a third season. The design of the Sonic The Hedgehog character was edited after angry fan backlash. Disney themselves, have also responded to fan opinion by creating a final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Would you like to see Charlie Cox return for the fourth season of Daredevil? Maybe you’d settle for his appearance in upcoming MCU films?
