Thor: Love and Thunder is currently filming in Sydney, Australia, and in recent months we’ve seen a number of stars gather down under for filming. Earlier this year, Hollywood star Matt Damon arrived in The Emerald City igniting reports that he will appear in the film. Those rumours turned out to be true when behind-the-scenes set photos showed Damon alongside Luke Hemsworth, Sam Neill and Melissa McCarthy.
Today it has emerged that another big-name actor is set to appear in the film. Deadline has revealed that Oscar winner Russell Crowe has joined the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder. According to the report, Crowe’s role is being kept under wraps.
Over the weekend, Thor actor Chris Hemsworth, director Taika Waititi, and the returning Jeff Goldblum were spotted attending a rugby match in Crowe’s personal box. Marvel Studios were hoping to keep his appearance a secret to surprise fans with his “fun cameo”, but following this weekend’s pictures Deadline managed to confirm the details.
Thor: Love and Thunder is gathering an impressive list of acting talent. Should Crow appear in the film, he will be joined by Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), the returning Natalie Portman (Jane Foster) and Jaimie Alexander (Lady Sif), and Christian Bale (Gorr the Godbutcher). Guardians of the Galaxy stars Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Dave Bautista (Drax), Karen Gillan (Nebula), and Pom Klementieff (Mantis) have all recently wrapped filming on the movie as well.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to release on February 11th, 2022.
