There have been multiple rumours in recent months that Sony is looking to expand its own universe of Marvel characters. Following the success of 2018’s Venom, Sony already has two films due to release in the next 12 months with Venom: Let There Be Carnage set to arrive on June 25th, 2021, and Morbius scheduled to release on January 21st, 2022.
Sony is also reportedly working on a Spider-Women film which is being written and directed by Olivia Wilde, a live-action Silk series fro Amazon Prime and a Dusk movie. It’s currently unclear if and when Sony’s characters will mix with the MCU, however, there have been hints that the two universe do have some cross-over.
A new report from The Illuminerdi has indicated that Sony isn’t done there. According to one of their sources, Hollywood A-lister Keanu Reeves has “given an official offer” to star as Kraven the Hunter in his own solo movie.
The Illuminerdi’s source went on to reveal that the project, which is currently being referred to internally as Kraven, will have a tone that is described as a “mashup of Man on Fire and Logan.”
The addition of Kraven the Hunter to Sony’s Marvel universe could indicate further that the studio is looking to assemble the Sinister Six. With Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus and Jamie Foxx’s Electro set to appear in Spider-Man 3, the only character missing from the original lineup would be The Sandman.
What do you think? Would Keanu Reeves make a good Kraven the Hunter?
