Ever since Blade was announced at Comic-Con in 2019, fans have been eager to learn more about the MCU reboot. Not much is currently known about the film at this point. We know that Mahershala Ali has been cast in the role of the ‘Day Walker’ and that Watchmen writer Stacy Osei-Kuffour has been hired to pen the script.
Earlier this year, the character’s co-creator, Marv Wolfman, shared a post on Facebook that hinted towards Blade releasing in 2022. That news aligned with an earlier report that suggested production on the film would begin in late 2021. A new report today has revealed that production on Blade has now been delayed until Summer 2022.
According to the report from The Hollywood Reporter, production on Blade has been pushed back from September this year to July 2022. The reason cited for the delay is to allow writer Stacy Osei-Kuffour more time to work on Blade‘s script. The report went on to add that Marvel Studios are currently hard at work searching for the film’s director.
