Over the next 3 years, Marvel Studios are bringing fans around two dozen projects, not including the upcoming X-Men movie we heard about this week, The Mutants. Nearly half of these projects will launch on Disney+. The streaming service launched it’s debut MCU project, WandaVision, which wrapped up this weekend and in many fans eyes was a huge success. A series that started lighthearted and filled with comical moments and Easter eggs but soon turned into a rollercoaster ride of emotions, finishing with an epic finale.
The latest news we have is for another show that will air on Disney+, She-Hulk. The show will see the legacy of Bruce Banner, who will return, continued by Jennifer Walters who will be played by Tatiana Maslany. We do not know much about the project except that it will be played out as a legal-comedy in half-hour episodes.
The latest news we have on the series comes from The Illuminerdi and shows that Marvel Studios have a casting call for a “20-30-year-old female described as a mysterious shapeshifter that embraces Earth’s pop culture. Enjoying the way she lives life, she uses her power in any way that she can to make her happy, including to get herself power, money, and attention”. She will use the codename A’Dood and will reportedly feature in two of the ten episodes.
The casting call points towards another appearance from the Skrulls. We have so far not seen any Shapeshifters except the Skrulls and magic users like Loki, so I think this would be a safe guess. As to exactly who it could be, many comic book fans will probably jump to the same conclusion we did, Jazinda. Jazinda is a member of the Skrull race, who befriended Jennifer Walters and accompanied her on many adventures.
She-Hulk is expected to begin filming soon and should arrive on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
