Thor: Love and Thunder began production last month and has seen the likes of Chris Pratt and his fellow Guardians of the Galaxy begin filming and are even rumoured to have finished. Meanwhile, we now have news that Matt Damon has flown into Sydney aboard a private jet ahead of filming.
Matt Damon (50) and his wife, Luciana Barossa (45) were seen exiting the plane after a two-week quarantine in an Airbnb mansion in Byron Bay.
Rather than spend the quarantine period in a quarantine hotel, Damon and his family hired the mansion along with privately funding their own private security, police monitoring, hospital-grade cleaning, staff, meals and regular medical checks.
The mansion costs $7,000 per night meaning the accommodation alone would have run up a cost of about $90,000. While Damon and his wife have arrived in Sydney they appear to have left their children back in Byron Bay. Damon’s immigration lawyer, Rebekah O’Sullivan, spoke about the star’s choice of quarantine:
Damon can be seen exiting the plane wearing a casual grey t-shirt, jeans and a baseball cap while his wife is wearing white trousers and a black singlet. The couple were followed by Chris Hemsworth who’s familiar muscular physique can be seen wearing Black shorts and yellow vest.
Exactly what role Damon will play in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, is as yet to be seen.
He had a cameo in the previous film Thor: Ragnarok. if the character survived the attacks on Asgard by Hela and Surtur along with the attack from Thanos in Infinity war, then he may be reprising that role. Another possibility is that he may be playing a whole new character entirely.
The fourth film in the Thor franchise is due for release May 6th and will also star Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), Chris Pratt (Peter Quill / Star-Lord), and newcomer Christian Bale (Gorr the God Butcher).
