The Coronavirus may have delayed the phase 4 movies and Disney+ series’, but it appears work on the future of the MCU has continued behind the scenes. In recent months during the lockdown, rumours of Ghost Rider, Secret Warriors, Hercules, Nova and Starfox projects have all been reported.
Today comes the news of another project that Marvel Studios has in the pipeline. According to The Illuminerdi, the studio is developing a project based on the Illuminati team from the Marvel comics. The information has been sourced from a cast listing which confirms the title of Marvel’s Illuminati. The listing also stated that Kevin Feige is the producer. At this time, there is no additional info as to if the project will be a film or Disney+ series.
The comic version of the Illuminati team consisted of Tony Stark, Doctor Strange, Professor X, Reed Richards, Black Bolt and Namor. With Tony Stark’s death in Avengers: Endgame last year, it’s highly likely that he’s replaced with a different character.

With the project in its very early stages, it’s unlikely that we’ll hear any concrete news for some time. If the report does prove to be true, however, it’s another exciting prospect to look forward too in phase 5 or 6.
