It has recently been rumoured that Marvel Studios are in talks with another A-list actor. As with all rumours, this should be taken with a pinch of salt but if this is true we may see Joseph Gordon Levitt in the MCU.
The source for this rumour is industry insider Charles Murphy who states that this is an “unsubstantiated rumour at this time” but he has heard that Joseph Gordon Levitt had been in contact with one of the creatives at Marvel Studios. That is the limit of what has been said and is taken completely without context. Therefore exactly what is being discussed is completely open to interpretation.
Levitt though is a huge talent and would be a welcome addition to the MCU. I’m sure many other fans would agree that he would be a great fit and there are many roles from the comics that Levitt could portray in the big screen. If this rumour does turn out to be true there are a couple of roles we could see him playing. We have given some possible options below.
First would be a character that who’s name has been bouncing around for a while but as yet is not confirmed to make an appearance in the MCU. That character is Namor the Sub-Mariner.
Personally, I think Levitt could pull off any of these roles along with many more. Other options for the actor could be off-screen as he has turned his hand to writing, directing and even composing film scores.
Whether this rumour turns out to be true or not, and if so in what capacity we will see Levitt, is yet to be confirmed. As we hear more on this rumour we will as always let you know.
