Loki to Have Far Reaching Ramifications For MCU

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been built through multiple interconnected movies and, more recently, the addition of several series. The way every project is interlinked to the others helps keep the audience invested in the characters and their stories.

That being said, once you add time travel to the mix, things get a little more complicated to follow.

Avengers: Endgame added a few branches to the timeline of the MCU, but the upcoming series Loki looks to add even more.

Speaking to Total Film Magazine, Loki and Doctor Strange 2 writer, Michael Waldron had the following to say.

All of these stories, in their own way, are interconnected, and have ramifications. I think that certainly our aim with the Loki series was for it to have wide-reaching ramifications across the MCU moving forward. So, you know, was I having to clean up some of the messes that I made (with Loki)? Maybe so.

Having Waldron work on both Loki and Doctor Strange 2 is a wise move. He will help keep continuity across the two projects, as one will deal with time travel and the other deal with the multiverse. Tom Hiddleston has also spoken about the future of his character.

At this point, I have learned that for me to have any expectations is futile and a fool’s errand,” Tom Hiddleston says. “Having said goodbye to the character once, twice, three times, I do not know what the future holds. But I’m excited to find out. I think we could never have seen 10 years ahead.

However, that would be to underestimate the intelligence of Kevin Feige! Maybe he did see into the future, and he predicted all this, and, in fact, he works for the TVA, and reality is unfolding as it should, and we’re all just along for the ride…

Loki will land on Disney+ on June 9th and run for 6 episodes. Tom Hiddleston will be joined by Owen Wilson who will be playing Mobius, a member of the TVA.
