With WandaVision now only hours away from its debut on Disney+, Marvel Studios is about to launch what it hopes will be a busy year for the MCU. In total, the studio will release six new Disney+ shows and four movies in 2021 following a rare down year in 2020.
As part of a recent press junket for the launch of WandaVision, Steve Weintraub from Collider had the chance to talk to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. As part of the interview, Weintraub asked if the characters from Netflix’s The Defenders and their individual series’ were canon for the MCU, or if they were part of a different universe.
As a follow-up, Weintraub mentioned how much fans loved Charlie Cox’s portrayal of Daredevil and are hopeful of seeing him return. Feige in response simply looked at the camera, smiled and nodded without saying anything on the subject. As the saying goes, images speak louder than words. You can check out Feige’s coy reaction below:
Rumours of some of Netflix’s lineup of Marvel characters appearing again in the MCU have intensified over recent months. With their rights now reverting back to Marvel Studios, there have been reports of a rebooted Iron Fist, Krysten Ritter appearing as Jessica Jones in She-Hulk, and, of course, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil returning in Spider-Man 3.
Whilst Feige’s response when discussing the Netflix characters in general was quite vague, his response, when pushed on Charlie Cox reprising his role as Daredevil, seems a little more clear.
