Filming for Thor: Love and Thunder has been underway in Sydney, Australia since January. The fourth solo film in the Thor franchise draws inspiration from The Mighty Thor comics and will see Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster become the Goddess of Thunder.
In addition to the returning Natalie Portman and Chris Hemsworth, several more returning MCU stars have been spotted in Australia to film their roles in the film. Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan and Jaimie Alexander have all recently revealed that they have wrapped filming their parts. We’ve also seen multiple behind the scenes images of Matt Damon, Sam Neill, Luke Hemsworth and Melissa McCarthy filming their cameo roles.
Yesterday, another star was spotted enjoying some downtime with Chris Hemsworth and director Taika Waititi. The discovery was pointed out by Murphy’s Multiverse who shared a tweet from Wide World of Sports. The tweet included an image of Jeff Goldblum alongside his fellow Thor: Ragnarok stars as they watched a Rugby match in Australia.
Goldblum played the role of the hilarious Grandmaster in 2017’s Ragnarok. The last time we saw the character was in the post-credit scene of the film which revealed he had survived being overthrown as the ruler of Sakaar.
Jeff Goldblum’s appearance in Australia doesn’t confirm he will appear in Thor 4, of course, but it does seem like it’s too much of a coincidence. Goldblum himself has previously teased his appearance in the film in an interview with Entertainment Weekly:
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to release on May 6th, 2022.
