While the project continues to make progress since his firing and rehiring, James Gunn has now revealed that the script has been written for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
The filmmaker took to Twitter to update fans of the steady progress of the project. Gunn stated that the script is written and most of the production heads have been hired.
He followed up this with another tweet, stating that very little of the script had been changed from his original version. This isn’t very surprising as MCU head Kevin Feige had stated that Gunn’s original draft would be used for the project, whether James Gunn was involved or not.
Fans are more than happy that Gunn is back on board for the third instalment after the box office success of the previous 2 instalments. That being said, James has previously stated that this will probably be the last one with him in the director’s chair and the last with the current team.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was originally penned in as one the first movies to release for the upcoming phase 4. With Gunn being fired and taking on DC’s Suicide Squad Reboot the film has been pushed further back. Despite the delay, the project sounds like it will be worth the wait from the recent praise Karen Gillan lauded on the script.
