He also confirmed a death in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

In a recent Q&A session performed on his Instagram account, Guardians of the Galaxy director, James Gunn, answered some important questions about the third movie in the series, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is currently set to release in 2023. When asked about his plans to direct a fourth movie in the series, he answered:

I have no plans to do a 4th.

When asked if someone will die in GotG3, to which he replied: “Yes.” Although that’s pretty obvious to most people. Who will die is left to interpretation. Will it be a major character or simply a background character? We’ll have to wait and see.

Lastly, when asked if there will be any delays to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in a similar fashion to the many Phase 4 movies that were pushed back earlier this month, he provided a positive update, although we’ll have to see if anything changes should the Coronavirus pandemic continue longer into the year.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is currently set to release in 2023.
