Recently, J.K. Simmons confirmed in an interview that he’s already signed on the dotted line to reprise his role as J. Jonah Jameson in future Spider-Man-related movies. His return wasn’t guaranteed, however, as he also revealed that Sony isn’t obligated to use him.
After Jameson dropped the bombshell at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, it’s hard to imagine that Sony wouldn’t use the actor again. Especially when you consider that the reveal of Spider-Man’s identity is likely to shape the plot of the upcoming Spider-Man 3.
In a fresh report from Collider, Simmons revealed more about his future in the MCU on SiriuXM’s The Jess Cagle Show, stating that he’s already recorded J, Jonah Jameson’s next cameo.
While Simmons didn’t go on to confirm which movie he filmed, it’s highly likely that it will be Morbius. The upcoming movie teased a link to the MCU in the Morbius trailer with an appearance from Michael Keaton’s Adrian Toomes (Vulture) from Spider-Man: Homecoming. The future role will almost certainly be Spider-Man 3, which hasn’t begun filming as of yet due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
