The Casting Process for Marvel’s upcoming Captain America movie is still in progress. While looking for a young actor to play the role of Steve Rogers A.K.A Captain America, the studio has ruled out several who were in the running. John Krasinski (The Office), Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl), Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights), Patrick Flueger (Brothers) and Michael Cassidy (Privileged) are all out of the picture. Meanwhile, Mike Vogel (Cloverfield) and Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy) are both still in the running but are joined by someone who already has some Marvel experience, Chris Evans. You will recognize Evans, as the Human Torch from 2005’s Fantastic 4.
While the hunt for the title role is on, the search for the Villain of the movie seems like it may almost be confirmed. The studio appears to have decided on Hugo Weaving who you will recognize as Agent Smith from the Matrix and Elrond from the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Like Evans, Weaving is no stranger to Superhero flicks as he played the Masked Vigilante V, in V for Vendetta alongside Thor’s, Natalie Portman.
As we hear any more news we will keep you posted.
