Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 doesn’t have a release date yet, but that hasn’t stopped fans trying to predict when we might see the return of Star-Lord and his crew. The film was originally scheduled to help kick start Phase 4 of the MCU, but those plans were derailed when Disney sacked director James Gunn for some old offensive Tweets.
With fans eager for news, Gunn took to Twitter yesterday to share some small nuggets of info on when we can see the third film in the GOTG franchise. Gunn originally Tweeted in reply to the official AMC Theatres account, who incorrectly teased that “@JamesGunn and the rest of the cast will be back for Vol. 3 in 2021.” You can see his reply dismissing the claim below.
That led to many presuming that 2022 will be the year the Vol. 3 hits theatres, however, Gunn was quick to shut that down as well, when replying to a comment stating “Websites: frantically writing “James Gunn announces GOTG 3 won’t release until 2022″ 1,000-word articles.”
The final bit of information came when another fan asked if it was true that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was originally scheduled to release in July of this year before he was dismissed by Disney. Gunn replied that the film would actually have been released this month.
Once an official release date for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is officially announced, we’ll let you know.
