The Marvel Cinematic Universe is ever-expanding and with Phase Four now underway, we will surely see new characters introduced in the upcoming movies and series. One of those characters is Yelena Belova who will be played by Florence Pugh.
Phase Four was originally intended to kick-off last May with the theatrical release of Black Widow. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, this release date has been delayed until May this year and instead, WandaVision launched Phase Four on Disney+.
Black Widow will introduce Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, who we have seen in the trailers. There are talks of her character taking on the mantle of Black Widow for future projects, and the latest news seems to confirm this, or at least that she will feature in some capacity.
While this is not a confirmation, the rumours have been around for a while. Pugh is one of the most anticipated new entries into the MCU so it would only make sense that Marvel will try to utilize the eagerness of the fans for the character to gain as much screen time as possible. That being said, there is no context as to what capacity she will be involved in.
Hawkeye has been filming since December so the majority of the filming has probably already been done. Either way, as we hear more we will as always let you know.
