Evan Peters who is well known for playing Quicksilver in Fox’s X-Men universe has reportedly signed on for a “key role” in the upcoming Disney+ series WandaVision.
The report comes from Murphy’s Multiverse, where insider Charles Murphy revealed that Peters has joined the cast of WandaVision in an as-yet-unspecified role. He also suggested that he “landed the role late last year” and has already filmed his scenes.
Whilst the nature of Evan Peters’ role in WandaVision is being kept under wraps, it is likely to ignite excitement from MCU fans that he’ll reprise his role as Pietro Maximoff. After all, rumours that Quicksilver will make a return in WandaVision have persisted, despite Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who played the role in Avengers: Age of Ultron, declaring that he won’t be appearing in the series.
Whilst that’s not completely out of the question at this stage, it’s more likely that Peters will take on a new role in WandaVision. Outside of the X-Men films that Peters has appeared in, his is also known for his roles in American Horror Story. Over the course of eight seasons of American Horror Story, Peters has portrayed several villains, which opens up the possibility of him appearing as Wanda and Vision’s “big bad”.
Regardless of who he plays in WandaVision, Evan Peters is another strong addition to an already talented cast of Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Randall Park, Kat Dennings, Teyonah Parris and Kathryn Hahn.
WandaVision is currently scheduled to begin streaming on Disney+ this December.
