Looking at the likely schedule for the rest of 2021, we may see a new movie or TV show released almost every week for the rest of the year. If there are no further delays that is.
2020 was a terrible year across the globe and saw the first year in the MCU without a release since 2009. Several movies were planned to be released but due to the global Coronavirus pandemic, these had been delayed. The first movie to be scheduled was Black Widow which is now due to be released in May.
With the launch of Disney+, 2021 should more than compensate for the lack of content that will be on display for fans of the MCU. Phase four kicked off on January 15th with WandaVision and will continue for pretty much the entire year.
Thanks to Reddit user r/Jedins, we now have a list of every released and likely air date for each project scheduled by Marvel Studios this year and things look extremely exciting.
The above breakdown shows that we will see a release for 38 weeks of the year on Disney+ between WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Marvel’s What If…?, Ms Marvel and Hawkeye. The remaining time will be filled with the movies Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals, with the “making of” Assembled series filling in the gaps.
There a few things, however, that need to be pointed out. Firstly, the above does not factor in any more possible delays while the world continues to deal with the effects of Coronavirus. It also doesn’t mention the Spider-Man sequel that is scheduled for release in December.
However the above schedule ends up playing out, fans will be more than happy with a minimum wait between projects.
