According to reports, Marvel Studios are moving ahead with the third Deadpool movie. The movie will see Ryan Reynolds return as the “Merc with a Mouth” but will have two new writers.
Reports from Deadline state that Reynolds is set to return as Wade Wilson, AKA Deadpool, for the third movie in the franchise but this one will not be written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, who wrote the first two movies. The report states that Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin are being hired to pen the script.
The Molyneux sisters are best known for their work on Bob’s Burgers where they not only write but are also executive producers.
It also appears that Marvel intends to keep the project R-Rated, as per it’s predecessors. For fans of the first two movies, this will surely be welcome news as there have been fears that the studio would bring the project down to PG-13 to keep inline with the other releases in the MCU.
The sisters are not the only crew who will not be returning for the third movie. David Leitch who directed Deadpool 2 will not be returning due to a busy schedule.
How Marvel will bring the character into the current timeline is yet to be seen. They may keep him separate from the current timeline or may even introduce him in via the multiverse. Either way fans of the character will surely want to see him cross into the MCU even if only in small cameo roles.
While this is the most news we have had on the project for a while, we still want more. As we hear more we will, as always, keep you updated.
