Deadpool 3 is currently in the early stages of development at Marvel Studios. Star Ryan Reynolds is currently overseeing a script that is being written by sisters Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux.
Whilst not much else is known about the project yet, Kevin Feige has confirmed that Deadpool 3 will keep its R-Rating and the character will be part of the MCU. Outside of the Molyneux sisters and Reynolds, no one else is currently attached to the film. It’s also currently unknown if any characters, such as Morena Baccarin’s Vanessa Carlysle, will appear in the Deadpool threequel.
That obviously leaves a space in the director’s chair. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Deadpool 2 director David Leitch revealed that while there haven’t been any discussions, he would “entertain anything Deadpool” and is willing to return for Deadpool 3 “if it came up”.
Leitch’s wife, Kelly McCormick, who worked as a producer on Deadpool 2 revealed how excited she is that Reynolds is working on the film.
While it was previously reported that Leitch wouldn’t be able to return to direct Deadpool 3 due to a hectic schedule in 2021, Kevin Feige has previously confirmed that Deadpool 3 won’t begin filming until next year.
We’ll have to wait and see if David Leitch is approached to direct Deadpool 3. As soon as any announcement is made, we’ll be sure to let you know. If you want to make sure you never miss a story from the world of the MCU, sign up for our newsletter to receive daily updates in your inbox.
