Since the Guardians of the Galaxy picked up Thor during Avengers: Infinity War, Star-Lord and Thor have had a competitive friendship. Off screen though it appears there is none of that after Chris Hemsworth piled the praise on Chris Pratt’s performance in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder.
During an interview with GQ, Chris Hemsworth pointed out how impressive Chris Pratt’s improvisational skills are.
The guy is wildly impressive with the spontaneity and the humor and the things he comes up with. It’s both funny, inspiring, and intimidating.
Chris Pratt is well known for his comedy skills which were highlighted during his time playing Andy Dwyer in the NBC series Parks and Recreation. It was when he was cast as Peter Quill for Guardians of the Galaxy, however, that he really got his chance to shine.
Chris Hemsworth is also no stranger to showing off his comedic side in Ghostbusters and Thor: Ragnarok. Despite this though, Hemsworth was blown away by the skills of his co-star.
The dynamic between the two characters has been an interesting one, with Quill trying to sound tougher and manlier when they first met. When the team were ready to head off at the end of Avengers: Endgame there is a funny little sketch where the two talk about who the true leader is.
The Guardians will not have a major role in the upcoming Thor movie as they have already wrapped up there respective parts of filming. That being said we will no doubt get to see some amazing scenes involving these two. Based on the above comments it feels as though director Taika Waititi has allowed the actors some comedic freedom.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to release February 2022 and will see the two Chris’ joined by the returning Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson and the MCU debut of Christian Bale who will play Gorr the God Butcher.
