Phase Four is set to introduce several new heroes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the next few years, and will also see the release of a number of sequels to earlier films. One of those sequels will see Brie Larson return as Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel 2.
Captain Marvel 2 is currently scheduled to release next year, although very little is actually known about the film. Candyman‘s Nia DaCosta will direct the movie, which will see Larson team up with WandaVision‘s Monica Rambeau and Ms. Marvel‘s Kamala Kahn. Reports have also revealed that Zawe Ashton has been cast as the film’s main villain.
Filming for the Captain Marvel sequel is scheduled to begin this Spring. A recent report from Murphy’s Multiverse has revealed that cameras will actually begin to roll next week. According to their story, some early arial shots will be filmed in New Jersey next week. They went on to state that these early shoots are likely to be establishing shots or VFX work and that no actors will actually be present.
The article also verified a recent tweet from @LRM_Exclusive that the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania working title of “Goat Rodeo” is incorrect. “Goat Rodeo” is actually the working title for Captain Marvel 2. The working title for Quantumania has now been confirmed as “Dusty Bunny”.
With filming for Captain Marvel 2 set to begin properly within a few months, hopefully, we’ll get some behind-the-scenes images and videos to help us piece together what the story will be about.
Captain Marvel 2 is set to release on November 11th, 2022.
