Marvel’s Eternals movie will be directed by Chloe Zhao and is packed with talented actors from Kit Harrington and Richard Madden to Angelina Jolie. Another one of those stars is Brian Tyree Henry who is best known for his role in the FX series, Atlanta.
Henry will be playing the role of Phastos who is member of the team that builds most of the team’s devices. Henry’s character will also be the first gay MCU superhero.
Appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show talk turned to the MCU at which point Henry asked Clarkson which MCU character she gravitated to most and why. Clarkson replied Doctor Strange because she loves his powers. This prompted Henry to tease his character’s powers.
Wait ’til you see my powers. They’re… I don’t want to give nothing away because, like I said, Marvel’s standing right here, but…
While each member of the race of Eternals has similar abilities, each member is also able to draw upon the cosmic energy that is their life force to give them unique powers. A good example would be Eros, the brother of Thanos. He is an Eternal from Titan rather than Earth, and while he has mostly the same abilities as others of his race, he is also able to persuade people mentally to do things they usually wouldn’t.
This means that while the majority of the team will have similar powers, each member will have something unique to bring to the table.
