Marvel Studios has announced a new original series called Armor Wars will release exclusively on Disney+. The series will see star Don Cheadle reprise his role as James Rhodes aka War Machine.

The Armor War series is based on a classic comic book storyline about Tony Stark’s worst fear coming true: what happens if his tech falls into the wrong hands? The Armor Wars comics were written by David Michelinie and Bob Layon, and ran for seven issues between December 1987 and June 1988.

Feige didn’t reveal any more details about Armor Wars, although he did state that the studio is “well underway” on the series. One popular opinion is that the series could see Sam Rockwell reprise his role as Justin Hammer from Iron Man 2. In the comic story arc, Justin Hammer is the person responsible for selling Stark’s technology to a group of armored villains.

When Rockwell was asked about the possibility of him reprising the role of Justin Hammer in a Reddit AMA, he stated that he would be happy to and was just waiting for the Avengers to call him.
