Since its inauguration in 2008, the MCU has been giving its fans an ever-growing roster of superheroes. It has introduced us to several superhero teams including The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy. There are more teams on their way, however, including the Fantastic Four. More superhero teams are rumoured for the future including The X-Men and The Young Avengers.

The Young Avengers seem to have been steadily building the team in the MCU over the past couple of years. Here we are going to take a look at all the members we currently have in the MCU along with a quick look at those who may show up.

Hawkeye/Kate Bishop

Disney+ will launch the Hawkeye series later this year and will show Clint Barton train up and pass the baton to Kate Bishop. Kate Bishop will be played by Hailee Steinfeld, an addition to the MCU that fans have eagerly been waiting for.

Kate Bishop is highly skilled at archery, fencing and swordsmanship as well an expert at jiu-jitsu and boxing. In the comics, she carries Clint Barton’s bow along with two battle staves, a sword and some trick arrows given to her by Black Panther.

Patriot/Eli Bradley

Eli Bradley is the grandson of the first Black Captain America who we met in episode 2 of Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+. We only saw Eli briefly and he is being played by Elijah Richardson. He is one of the founding members of the Young Avengers and goes by the name, Patriot.

To learn more on the character check out our recent article where we take a look at both Eli and his grandfather Isaiah.

We met Speed during the recent Disney+ series WandaVision. He is one of Wanda and Vision’s twin sons, Tommy, and was portrayed by Jett Klyne.

He is a speedster like his uncle and even though he has a fairly prominent role in the series he is a little young to enter the team currently. We may see an older version in a future MCU project like Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness.

Wiccan is the other twin son, Billy, of Wanda and Vision and was played by Julian Hilliard. His powers are similar to that of his mother Wanda’s. Like his brother he is a little young to join the team so we may get an older version when he is reintroduced.

Stature/Cassie Lang

The role of Cassie Lang in the MCU has recently been recast. She was portrayed by Abby Ryder Fortson in Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp, then by Emma Fuhrmann in Avengers: Endgame. She will now be portrayed by Kathryn Newton in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

In the comics Cassie Lang has the ability to both shrink and increase her size. This ability seems to be governed by her emotions. She also took on the name Stinger in the comics where she wore a helmet similar to Ant-Mans with a winged suit that allowed her to fly.

Which version we will see in the MCU is yet to be confirmed by Stature seems the more obvious.

Miss America/America Chavez

We will meet America Chavez in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness where she will be portrayed by Xochitl Gomez. One of her abilities allows her to open up holes in reality which allow her and her teammates to enter and move around the multiverse. This indicates she may have a prominent role in her debut movie which will tackle the multiverse.

Her other abilities include superhuman strength, durability and speed.

Possibly Upcoming

All of the above have been confirmed to be in an upcoming project or have already featured in either an MCU series of movie.

Below is a list of team members that are likely to enter the MCU at some point and expand the already impressive roster.

Hulkling is the son of the comic’s original Captain Marvel, the Kree warrior Mar-Vell, and the Skrulls princess, Anelle. He is able to shapeshift but also has superhuman strength and accelerated healing abilities.

He is the husband to Billy Kaplan/Wiccan and is one of comics most high profile LGBT relationships.

He was at one point rumoured to appear in WandaVision but his most likely appearance now will be in Captain Marvel 2.

Iron Lad

The rumours after Avengers: Endgame were that Ty Simpkins who plays Harley Keener in Iron Man 3 was going to assume the role of Iron Lad. It seemed one of the most logical explanations, especially after his appearance at Tony Stark’s funeral.

Iron Lad is the teenage version of Kang the Conqueror who will debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Therefore it would not be beyond the realms of possibility that this character will appear in one of the upcoming projects.

Kid Loki

Not much is known about the time travelling Disney+ series, Loki. We are expecting to see a couple of alternate versions of the Asgardian God of Trickery. One of these is Kid Loki although nothing has been confirmed as yet.

The characters abilities are similar to those of the main Loki. He is a master of deceit and manipulation but also boasts superhuman strength, speed and endurance.
