The final episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. aired last week on ABC, bringing a conclusion to the series that has run for seven seasons. Since it ended, fans online have continued to debate if the series is set in the MCU or not.

In a recent interview with the New York Times, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. co-writer, Jed Whedon confirmed that it is. Whedon stated that a scene cut from the finale specifically mentioned Thanos’ snap from Avengers: Infinity War. Unfortunately, the scene was cut due to time.

Some of the stuff they did with time travel in “Endgame” indicated that there are other timelines where other adventures are occurring. We’re following the multi-verse rule. The only way that someone survives Thanos’ snap in the movies is go into the quantum realm, and we originally did plan to give that a mention — because we used the quantum realm to move between timelines — but it got cut for time.

Hopefully, that scene will make its way into the series once season 7 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is added to Disney+.
